Editorial Tip: Attribution

Quotes generally should be attributed, even for a one-person story and it’s clear it’s that person talking.

Per AP Style, “said” is almost always the best word for attributions — instead of the likes of “commented,” “remarked,” “related,” “explained,” “laughed,” etc. View the Editorial Style Guide in its entirety for more editorial tips!
