Keep Content Simple and Focused
It can be easy to go overboard by sharing every fact or strong quote we compile while creating content that excites us. Stifle that impulse when the information in question diverts attention from the primary narrative. The strongest storytelling avoids unnecessary detours that can confuse the audience.
Our challenge is to develop the discipline to know when to remove these nuggets – even when we find them interesting – in service of the greater story. If it’s material that you still want to share afterward, don’t cast it aside forever. Perhaps another creative project will arise where the material better suits that project’s objectives.
