Keep Text on Graphics to a Minimum

When creating graphics for social, remember that a strong photo can often be more attention-grabbing than a text graphic. Social media users are often viewing content on their phones, and text on graphics can be hard to read or overlooked and scrolled past entirely. Leading with an image and having the necessary text in the post copy is best.

Some exceptions to this rule can include ranking graphics and Instagram stories (since you don’t have the accompanying post copy as you do with other social media posts). See an example of one opportunity to use text on graphics below.
