Promoting West Lafayette’s Curb Appeal

In the inaugural edition of the Emerging Housing Index — a collaboration between the Wall Street Journal and Realtor.com — out of 300 markets, West Lafayette ranked as the nation’s sixth best place to own a home and live.  

It was both a surprise and no surprise, and news well-worth amplifying. Purdue Marketing Communications was happy to tell a story just beyond the purview of the University but certainly near to our hearts.

Highlights of a Community 

We produced a robust content package including a summary, strategy, and social media guidance, as well as a primary story highlighting West Lafayette’s recognition and five supporting vignettes, in which residents celebrate their hometown. 

Through a mix of paid and organic media, we extended the reach of the WSJ-Realtor.com coverage, including a respectable showing on YouTube, considering an audience accustomed to stories centered on the University. 

Spreading the Word 

We created a content package for our campus partners to participate in sharing how Purdue serves as a driving force for growth in Greater Lafayette.
